Are you a computer Nerd?
It’s always good to stay up on today’s technology, and computer related information. I worked for 11 years in the computer networking field. I served large networks, as well as small computer systems. I left the field just 2.5 years ago after the birth of my youngest daughter. I now work from home, and enjoy being home with the kids.
What I have a big problem with is that even though I’m not working in the computer field now, many people come to me for problems. I haven’t brushed up on my skills or totally stayed in the loop to know what new technology is out there, or what’s the latest and greatest. I realized it was time to plug back into the computer field when my client asked me about jnlp file type and I really didn’t know. I was really ashamed to mention, I didn’t know. Thats when I vowed to stay up on the latest and greatest technology through this site’s blog. That way even though I’m no longer working in the field I will still be in the know.
I left my field of work temporarily, so I really need to stay in the know. If I don’t there will be more than just the latest that I will need to brush up before entering the workforce again.
