Cleaning windows

Posted under Cleaning Tips by admin on October 28th, 2008 8:35 pm

It’s important to do the windows quite often.   Atleast twice a year as minimum.  The more you do them the easier it is to get them clean.  You can use commercial cleaners or any home receipe.  Its important to remember that comercial cleaners kill your woodwork, and paint.  Make sure it doesn’t drip down onto the wood.

The best tip is to wipe in different directions depending on the side.  Wipe one side on a diagnol, and the other side verticle.  That way you will know which side needs to be cleaned better.

I won! I won!!

Halloween is flying!

Halloween is just around the corner, isn’t that crazy? Are you ready? Do your kids have costumes? Are you dressing up?

I don’t really like Halloween. I guess it’s fun, but it always seems to go fast like everything else. I prefer holidays with my family. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc. It’s ok.. Let’s no lose sight that this is a kids Holiday. Right?

Rust stains out of carpets

I kid you not, my boyfriend moved the couch today and there was a RUST stain! Where did that come from?! I have no idea what caused it, where it came from but it was there.  It even smelled like it.

I grabbed out the concentrated lemon juice, and drenched it.  Then blotted it with a towel and it immediately came up!  Woohoo!

High School Musical 3

Posted under Cleaning Tips by admin on October 24th, 2008 10:02 am

I am really getting excited I have a few more hours till the kids get home and then we are going to the movies to see High School Musical three.  I am so very excited about this!  I really can’t WAIT.  I am a lot more excited then my kids.  I know that I am.  LOL..

My oldest daughter looks just like Gabriella.  Actually that’s how I got into High School Musical.  My bestfriend called me up after seeing it, and she’s like.. JEN! You have to see High School Musical, the lead girl is what Lidia is going to look like as a teenager.  I’m like what?! Who? I saw the pictures of her and I’m like.. yeah a little.  THen I saw the movie and I was like.. HOLY CROW.. She does!! I was so excited.

My daughter isn’t thrilled about knowing that we think she looks like Vanessa.  She hates to be like anyone.  She likes to be herself.  It didn’t help that I created a video on Jib-jab and put her face over Vanessa’s.  It came out sooo cute But she was mad.  It came out really good.. Oh well.

A few hours till High School Musical.  Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Things we forget to think about…

Today we can clean out our kitchen drawers.  If you want to skip over the junk drawer, that is fine.. but how about the silverware drawer? That can get kinda yucky.  Not sure why but it does.  I removed all the silverware from mine and since it’s a built in organizer compartment tray thingy, I vacumned it out then wiped it down.  Dried it out, and put back the silverware.  All of 7 minutes! So worth it!

Clean out those cars!

Just a reminder… A few weeks ago I told you that the back of your car has probably more germs then your bathroom if you have small kids.  Did you do anything about it?

Let’s go! Get out your buckets of Mr. Clean, or your cleaning product of choice, and a wash cloth or sponge.  Get out there, and wipe down everything!! Just scrub the back of the seats, the front of the seats, the sides, etc.  Get out your glass cleaners and clean your windows.  Trust me you will be happy you did when it’s done.

I just did mine again yesterday afternoon, and now I’m vowing to wipe it down every few days with a cleaning wipe!  Work smarter, not harder!

Get Cleaning!

Set yourself on a schedule.  If you don’t have a certain day that you do certain tasks, your more likely to forget.  You will also end up doing everything all at once.  You can set it up for whatever fits your schedule best.  Do you want to do the Kitchen on certain days? Bathrooms on others? Or how about breaking it up into tasks? Write it down so you don’t forget and get into a habit.

Then of course there are things that need to be done biweekly.  Remind yourself to do those things on the 1st and 15th so you don’t forget those either.

If it’s a monthly task, think about scheduling them every 20th of that month?! Little things like that will make it easier to remember.

Enroll your family members to help you clean!

It’s true that housekeepers usually come in a team.  You can make a bed in just a few minutes, but with an extra person on the other side of the bed you can do it in seconds.

Have a spouse or your children help you.  It’s not an option, but a requirement to be part of the family.  Not just one person should have to do it all.  Don’t do it all, and don’t make others do it all.  Everyone can pitch in from time to time.  It will make everyone feel better when your done.

Everyone likes to have a clean house, everyone can help to keep it clean or make it clean!
